PRODUCT Detail
A great track record of proven performance continues to improve with Cummins ISL9. The ISL9 continues to have the highest power density of any engine in its class. So whether you’re pulling a loaded dump truck out of the mud, driving a beverage truck across town or hauling fresh mix to a construction site, you’ve got the power to get the job done.
Better Performance.
The ISL9 features common technology with the Heavy-Duty ISX15 and ISX12 for exceptional performance. Common components include the XPI fuel system, a high-capacity Electronic Control Module (ECM) and the patented Cummins VGT™ Turbocharger from Cummins Turbo Technologies. Ratings range from 260-380 hp (194-283 kW), with 550 lb-ft of clutch engagement torque. Optional features include engine braking for better control, Rear-Engine Power Take Off (REPTO) and Front-Engine Power Take Off (FEPTO).
Better Cost of Operation.
We’ve refined the 2013 ISL9 to deliver up to 2% better fuel economy versus the 2012 model by adding an air intake throttle that makes the EGR system more efficient and modifying the VGT™ Turbocharger to make it more efficient as well. As a result, Cummins ISL9 meets the 2014 greenhouse gas (GHG) and fuel efficiency regulations a full year ahead of schedule. Even better is the fact that maintenance intervals and related costs remain virtually unchanged. This, together with better fuel economy, delivers a lower total cost of operation to ISL9 owners.
Better Reliability And Longevity.
Heavy-duty roller followers, bypass oil filtration and targeted piston cooling all contribute to longer service life in the toughest work environments. Replaceable wet liners make the ISL9 easier to rebuild. All this adds up to longer engine life, which helps with resale value when it’s time to trade.
Better Coverage For Better Confidence.
Base engine warranty coverage includes parts and labor on warrantable failures with no deductible for 2 years/250,000 miles (402,336 km). A variety of extended coverage plans are available for the engine and aftertreatment system. Check with your Cummins distributor or dealer for details.
